Dear Supporters, it is exciting to bring to you good news!
Supposedly, an ancient Chinese curse is “May you live in interesting times”; this is inaccurate – it is an English curse. But I am proud to say, the choir IS living in interesting times. Last year, we recruited 15 or so new singers; we have repeated the event by inviting interested men to a “pizza and pint” at the Hogsback Brewery in April. We had a response of over 40 men, of which over 30 came to the “pizza & pint” event. So, we now expect over 20 new singers to join the merry throng. They are busy learning (as is the choir) 6 new songs to commit to memory. Thus, at our Summer Concert at St Thomas on the Bourne will feature a choir of, perhaps, 60 singers. We will fill that glorious church with sound! We will be using our own talent to provide solo spots.
We are also privileged to be raising money for the Sebastian Action Trust; a remarkable local charity that supports seriously ill children and their families through respite care, emotional support, and vital community services. Your attendance will help bring joy and comfort to families facing unimaginable challenges.
Please come and support the choir in its aims of providing enjoyable music, have fun singing, and raising money for deserving local charities.
In my last newsletter I said I hope that lady luck will continue to smile on the Hampshire and Surrey Hills Men’s Choir. I am pleased to report she has a very big GRIN!
Details of how to book tickets can be found in this newsletter.
