If you’re thinking about joining the choir, or just curious to try out singing, you’re warmly invited to come along to a rehearsal. Here's what to expext.
Newcomers are welcomed by a “buddy,” who’ll be on hand to guide you through rehearsals, music, and introductions to fellow singers.
Rehearsals are light-hearted but purposeful, led by our Musical Director to help everyone improve and grow in confidence.
The choir sings in four voice sections, and the conductor will help you find the right part for your voice.
We usually start with a warm-up, then full-choir singing, sometimes breaking into smaller groups for more focused sectional rehearsals.
All music is provided.
And finish on a high: as Opera North puts it "Singing makes you feel better."
The practical details:
We meet on Monday evenings, 7.30–9.30 p.m., with a short break in the middle.
Rehearsals take place in the main body of North Camp Methodist Church.
Limited on-site parking is available, and the Napier Gardens car park is only a few minutes’ walk away.
